The Great Vigil of Easter – 8:00 PM
Folks, this is it! The Great Vigil of Easter is, in fact, the most important service of the entire year. We begin in darkness in the church at 8:00 PM The fire is lit, the Paschal Candle is lit and blessed. We sit to hear 4 readings outlining salvation history followed by hymns and spirituals. A short sermon is preached and then the lights go on, the organ sounds once again and the Risen Christ is proclaimed. Once finished, we move to the parish hall for a ‘Champagne Brunch.”
Easter Day: The Day of Resurrection - 9:30 AM We meet in the church at the normal time to proclaim the Risen Christ in word and music. A light brunch follows in the Parish Hall
Easter Day Evening Office – 4:00 PM For those faithful who want to gather once more to hear the main gospel lesson of Easter Day. The service is spoken and lasts no more than 15 minutes.
Wednesday in Easter Week – April 24 – 6:00 PM Father Joh will be available in the Parish Hall to talk with anyone who would like to offer comments on the Lenten study series…the services of Holy Week…or who would simply like to gather for fellowship and conversation. A light supper will be served for those who chose to join us.
Whether you are able to join us for Holy Week or are travelling to other places, my sincere prayer that you have a most Holy and Blessed Holy Week and Easter this year.
